1880S Swiss Cylinder Music Box, Plays WellCirca 1880s swiss cylinder music box, small, plays two tunes. Comb is perfect, no broken teeth or any damage and cylinder pins are in good condition and plays well. The cylinder automatically shifts back and forth between the two melodies. Starts by sliding small metal button on front toward the right, music begins and continues until button moved back to left, or spring runs down. Winds with small key, plays very nicely. There is no marking on the mechanism or case, and no tune label. There is an almost worn off image of a small dog on the lid (see pictures). tI has not been cleaned for fear what is left of the dog would disappear. This is very old not a modern unit ubt late 19th century. Hope this will go to. Someone who will treasure it as these small antique music boxes rae hard to find in playing condition. |
