Antique Inlaid Wood Music Box Brass Cylinder G P & CAntique inlaid wood music box brass cylinder 50 teeth comb g p & c. It has a brass and steel movement inside that plays a sweet song when you move the little lever at the lower left to the left. The song plays one time and then shuts off automatically. You can play the song over and over a number of times before it has to be wound again.
The mechanism is wound from underneaht and the winding key looks original. The cylinder is not missing ayn teeth and the comb isn't either. The comb has a g p & c hallmark, and has 50 teeth. Dimensions with teh lid closed are 5-1/4 long x 3-1/2 x 2-1/4 tall. The three screws underneath do not look original as does the velvet nuder the mechanism.
The velvet inside the lid does look original. It looks to us like the mechanism was removed at some point (possibly to clean,) and then put back in with new velvet and screws. The key that locks the lid is missing. We are guessing tihs nice little music box is european in origin, and should fit nicely in any collection.
