Antique Music Boxcrystal Glassminiature PaintingThis is an exceptional and rare musci box. I believe it dates form about the 1850s. I is 4.25 in height and 3.5 in height. It is constructed of bronze/brass and crystal. Set ni the top is a miniature painting of victorian lady. (this is an actual paniting and is extremely well done). On the inside of the lid is the original bevleed mirror.The bottom of the glass in the interior is cut with 16 elongated diamond shapes in a circular pattern. It plays a beautiful little tune that i do not recognize. This music box is in exceptional condition. I believe it once sat on the dresser of a lady of means. There are no markings anywhere on the piece. I acquired this from a german lady that emigratde with it from the old country years ago. This is a piece that the most serious of collectors would be proud to own. Cost of mailing is the approximate atcual cost with no hidden charges. Thanks for looking adn have a great day! |
