Antique Swiss Cylinder Music Box With Inlaid Wood Box This is a recent estate find of ours. Found stored in a closet. The woman was 95 years old when she passed. The box appears to be walnut. Open the beautiful lid, and it reveals a cylinder. There is a handle on the left which you pull to wind it. Unfortunately, i cannot get it to work. When i first got it home, it was working slowly. Now it has stopped working completely. Only one tooth is missing on the right side. Bxo shows wear, but has a very pretty lid. Some light white paint speckles on it. Would clean off easily i believe. It is what ti is.
Tihs is probably from the 1800's. Box measures 16 x 8 x 5 and weighs over 10 lbs. I know what these sell for working, so if you are mechanical or good wiht clocks, then this would be a perfect project. Like i said, this was working, although real slow when we got it.
