Collection Of Antique Cobs Rolls For Roller Organ

This is a collectoin of 28 cobs or rollers for an antique hand operated roller organ. These served sa the modern-day records or disks. When new, the whole machine old for less than $5. I don't own a roller organ so i can't swear that these all play.

However, there is no erason why they wouldn't. The roll is 6 3/8 long and 1 3/4 in diameter.

One end has one hole, the title of the song, and the number of the song, and the patent date of july 1885. The other end with tow holes provides directions for using the rolls. Many of the rolls looks like they just came out of the box from the factory while others sohw some discoloration around where the pins were driven into the roll. I doubt that this will affect their playability. All of the labels are complete enough to make out the song title and number but a few (see last 3 pix) are missing small parts of hte label. More than 1,000 different titles were originally available, a list of which is available by number on the wbe on sites specializing on roller organs.
