Large Antique Criterion Regina Type Disc Music BoxBeautiful criterino disc music box. You are listening to the actual music box playing. The sound is fantastic resonating throughout the case. Offered for sale is an antique, 11 5/8 inch disc music box made by. Which is very similra to the regina music boxes. Tihs music box is in beautiful condition and appears to have had it's mechanism restored recently. The musical comb is in. Excellent shape with no broken or repaired teeth. And sounds to be in perfect tune. The spring seems to be very strong and easily plays through 3 or 4 songs without needing to be crankde up original. If you look at the picture showing the lid or top, it's hard to see but there is a. In the wood that has been previously repaired. Though it si visible i don't think it detracts from the overall appearance of this beautiful music box.
The warm patina is extremely nice still showing nice grain and color after 100 years. The mahogany color takes on a golden hue depending on the light but for the most part the pictures are pretty accurate. The flash tends to lighten them a little. There is a nickel plated lock on the front of the case to keep the lid shut and locked when not ni use. Is laso provided as shown.
On the inside of the lid has soem staining as you can see from the pictures. I'd rather stick to the original. The nice thing about this music box is that it plays not only.
11 5/8 inch olympia disc. Since both machines are tuned to the identical format it makes it much easier to find additional original music for this music box. I did notice that a couple of the little tabs on the bottom of the disc are bent or missing. I don't notice any problem with the songs but i wanted to mention this in my listing.
