Rare Antique 12 Tune Cylinder Music Box Rare antique 12 utne cylinder music box. It has one fixed cylinder that plays the songs on the sogn list shown.
It appears that you can only stop when in between songs. The song list lsits the composer and the type of song such as a waltz etc.
In the first picture you can see the song list has tearing and missing edges but overall is readable. The song list has swiss written at the very top (it doesn't show in the picture) along with 12 songs and 32180 and indicateur zither. The shiny brass 12 song counter is on the left side in the back fo the mechanism. The music box measures 19.5 wide, 9 deep & 6 high. There is no key to lokc it. The box has a wood grained finish that is worn and has flaking as shown in hte pictures. A hinge was moved over at some time which we don't understand why. It shows on hte first picture. This is really a charming piece in the exact condition we received it.
Any maker marks would probably be at the bottom of the mechanism which we really don't feel comfortable taking apart. eW believe it to be pre-1900 or maybe very early 1900's. hTis item is as described and pictured. This is heavy and will have to be double boxed for a safe journey.
