Rare antique lecoultre 8 aires keywind rosewood swiss cylinder musci box 1850. Is a rare antique lecoultre 8 aires key wind rosweood 102 note cylinder music box 1850. From a kennebunk port, maine estate. Beautiful and rare antique lecoultre 13 cylinder 8 aires key wind music box with 102 note comb, stnuning figured rosewood case with boxwood stringing decoration. The brass bed palte is engraved b, b & cie with serial number 22691 which is also marked on the bottom of the case.
This music box i believe to be in original condition and in excellent playing condition measures 20.5 wide by 5.5 tall and is 7 deep, retains 2 original keys. Over all the condition is excellent when you consider could be over 150 years oldrosewood case is structurally sound with no damage save for cracked side and back lid edge molding(see photographs). The 102 note comb hsa no broken teeth without rust and the 13 cylinder shows no bent pins retains original patina from age. The original hand written paper shows 8 aires and i will do my best to interpret! 8 aires arebridal polka, cricket polka? , olga waltz, ole man tucker, buffalo gal, luey neal? This is writetn on the back of a frisch & schierwater business card(see photograph).
