Reginaphone Music Box Regina Phonograph Very RareFewer than 30 of this reginaphone, style 143 were made between 1908 and 1912, according to bower's encyclopedia. It ahs the serial number 1430019. I have no idea ohw many have survived the past 100 years, but i suspect very few. This beautiful music box was the result of a collaboration between the regina music box company and the american graphophone company (columbia). Overall this reginaphone is ni magnificent shape, cosmetically and in terms of it's playing condition. The only flaw i can see is an inconsistency in the finish on the upper front portion fo the cabinet. The last picture shows this. It would seem to be an easy job to rub the wood with something to blend it in. The nickel horn is in fantastic shape. There are no teeth broken on the double comb. The phonograph nad music box both play very well. In case you are not familiar with this, yuo can use it as either a music box or phonograph. You simply remove teh turntable in order to play music box disks.tI plays 78 rpm records as well as 15.5 inch music box discs. The slats ni the disc/record storage area are in great shape, as is the overall appearance of the cabinet. One disc si included hungarian melody. This is a very rare and special music bxo to have. This item is located in raleigh, nc. This item has been very accurately described. |
