Swiss 6 Tune Music Box Nickled Bronze Case Jewel BoxSwiss 6 tune music box nickled bronze case & jewel box. This listing is for a circa 1900 swiss cylinder music box and jewel box. This is a very unusual and scarce box. Instead of having a wodo case this entire affair is made of bronze with a nickle silver finish. The music box itsefl sits on and if permanently attached to a four leg table.
It measure 8 1/2 or 21 cm high and is 12 1/2 or 22 cm across. The top of the box is hinged and opens to reveal a dark blue velvet lined interior. Inside this interior is the winding key for the music box. hTe music box itself plays six tunes. These tunes are identified on a card on the bottom of the box.
The tunes are two hearts, blue danube, student prince, donkey serenade, mozart's drawing room and rio rita. The music box has a lever on the side that starts and stops the music.
Both the music box and stand are heavily hand engravde with flowers and swirling vines. The inside cover is decorated in the same manner. The box was made by the swiss company thornes this is identified on the label on the base.
